For the love of his daughters, Tom chose to remain in the Czech Republic for an additional three years. This decision, however, proved to be fraught with challenges. His ex-wife, Martina, engaged in a relentless and obsessive campaign against the father of her children. Throughout this period, she sought to imprison him, attempted to sever his ties with their daughters, and frequently threatened him with a barrage of legal cases over trivial matters. Despite her public façade of wanting the best for Tom and insisting on his importance to their daughters, Mary and Lucie, her actions told a different story.

During this tumultuous time, Tom did everything he could to be a devoted father. When the girls were with him, he poured his heart and soul into their moments together. They shared several holidays, always extending an invitation to Martina, who instead chose to retreat into her own bitterness. Despite his unwavering principles and desire to find a good partner, Tom ultimately faced insurmountable challenges against an increasingly hostile feminist bureaucratic system. With a heavy heart, he made the painful decision to leave the country.

After a year of separation from their father, Mary and Lucie experienced profound emotional distress. Meanwhile, Martina actively worked to restrict the already limited contact between Tom and the children. Yet, against all odds, the bond between the girls and their father remained strong. Throughout this ordeal, Martina, despite being the architect of their struggles, saw herself as the victim. It wasn’t until her own parents began to recognize Tom's true character—that he was not the villain she had depicted—that the reality of the situation began to shift. They came to understand that their daughter’s behavior was not only misguided but also troubling.

As Mary and Lucie grapple with the psychological scars of their separation from Tom, Martina, in her unwillingness to confront the truth, continues to place the blame on him. She remains poised to strike at the first opportunity, convinced that he is the root cause of their family’s turmoil.
